Terms of Service
These terms cover your use of the free Twingle app — including community audio uploads. Other pages: Privacy Policy and DMCA.
Last updated: August 2026
1. Agreement to terms
By downloading, accessing or using the Twingle mobile application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
2. A free service
Twingle is offered free of charge. All audiobooks, book summaries, podcasts and other audio content are free to listen to in the App. We reserve the right to introduce new features or services in the future, but any change to pricing would be announced clearly and in advance.
3. Accounts
Some features — such as favourites, your library, progress syncing and uploads — may require a free account. You may sign in using email, Google or Apple. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for any activity under your account.
4. Content submitted by users
Twingle allows users to upload audiobooks, summaries, podcasts and related audio content. By uploading content you confirm that:
- You own the content or have all necessary rights and permissions to publish it, including music, narration and artwork.
- Your content does not infringe the copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights of any third party.
- Your content complies with all applicable laws and our community guidelines.
- You grant Twingle a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, stream, distribute and promote your content within the App and associated channels for as long as you keep it published.
5. Creator payouts
Creators may earn payments based on audience engagement (for example, roughly $5–$10 per 1,000 views for audiobooks and podcasts, and approximately $2 per 1,000 views for summaries and music). Exact rates, minimum thresholds and payout mechanics are displayed in the App and may be updated from time to time. We are not responsible for your tax obligations arising from earnings.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App, including:
- Reproducing, reselling or redistributing content in ways not permitted.
- Uploading infringing, unlawful, abusive or misleading content.
- Attempting to disrupt, hack or reverse-engineer the App, or scraping audio streams at scale.
- Impersonating others or submitting false copyright claims.
7. Copyright and DMCA
We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe content in the App infringes your copyright, please follow the process on our DMCA page or email [email protected].
8. App store terms
The App is delivered through the Apple App Store and Google Play. These Terms are between you and Twingle; your use of each store remains subject to the store's own terms of service (Apple and Google respectively).
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The App and all content are provided "as is" and "as available", free of charge. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free or free of harmful components.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Twingle shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App. Because the service is free, this limitation is a core part of the agreement.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the App or by email. Continued use of the App after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
